Dzisiejsze słowo dnia:  Judge

Tłumaczenie/Polski odpowiednik:  sędzia

Przykłady użycia: (przykładowe zdania) The Judge drew the jury’s attention to gaps in the prosecution’s case – but they still returned a verdict of ‘guilty’.
The possible roles of judges varies widely across the world depending on the legal system. One simple division of systems is into adversarial (where the judge, as in the UK, listens to both sides presented by independent barristers) and the prosecutorial system like in Poland where a judge can be a prosecutor i.e. part of the prosecution process, liaising with the police. Another key difference is whether a jury is part of the system not. In the UK a jury is part of most criminal cases, in the US a jury may be a party to civil cases (hence famously large damages awards in the US.) In Poland there are no juries.
